O’Shae Sibley was a young gay activist who was murdered at a gas station in Brooklyn, New York.

Law enforcement is investigating the crime as a hate-motivated homicide sparked by homophobia.

The crime occurred on Saturday, July 29, according to the Gothamist.

O’Shea Sibley died after being fatally stabbed at a gas station near Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York.

The Advocate reports that Sibley is remembered as an accomplished dancer, choreographer and activist.

The 28-year-old’s murder is being investigated by the Hate Crimes Task Force of the New York City Police Department.

The unfortunate incident occurred as the victim was returning from a day at the beach with a group of friends.

Sibly and his friends had stopped to buy gas when they were approached by a group of men.

The group was voguing to the rhythm of Beyoncé’s Renaissance album seconds before the tragic incident.

The gas station’s surveillance cameras showed them dancing shirtless and in swimsuits on a sweltering summer night.

The incident occurred around 11:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, on Coney Island Avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn.

Summy Ullah, an employee of a store near the gas station, recounted the details of the tragic crime.

Ullah stated that Sibley and his friends were approached by a group of men.

The men claimed that the dance and flamboyant behavior of the young men offended their Muslim faith.

«These people were like ‘we’re Muslim, I don’t want you dancing,'» Ullah said in an interview with Gothamist.

Eventually a physical fight broke out between the groups of men at the gas station.

«The gay people, they were not trying to fight,» Summy Ullah said in an interview with Gothamist.

The NY Post reported that O’Shae Sibley and three of his friends got into a heated argument with their attackers before the fatal stabbing.

Sibley was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being stabbed in the abdomen.
