In a dramatic escalation of the Middle East conflict, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles against Israeli territory on Friday night, in response to a series of airstrikes carried out by Israel over the past 24 hours.
The cities of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were struck by projectiles,
causing explosions, panic, and at least seven people injured, as reported by emergency services.

The Israeli army confirmed that the attack was ongoing:
“Dozens of additional missiles have been launched toward the State of Israel. The explosions being heard are either interceptions or direct hits.”
Iran called the Israeli offensive a “declaration of war” and warned that it will respond “without limits” to any new attacks.

Hours before the Iranian attack, Israel had intensified its operations on Iranian soil, targeting:
- Surface-to-surface missile systems
- Weapons depots
- Revolutionary Guard infrastructure
According to military sources, the attacks were guided by precise intelligence and are part of “Operation Rising Lion,” authorized by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israeli authorities ordered citizens across the country to seek shelter.
The Iron Dome intercepted some of the missiles,
but several rockets managed to hit urban areas.
Israel’s Minister of Defense stated that Iran “crossed a red line” by directly attacking civilian targets.
Immediate Consequences
The Israeli army is preparing for a “prolonged operation,” and further offensives in Iranian territory are not ruled out.
The killing of Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guard’s Air Force, was confirmed as part of the Israeli operation.
