Columbine High School, located on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado, was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon after a fire broke out in its woodshop.

Some students and two firefighters were evaluated for possible injuries due to smoke exposure and heat from the fire.
The district superintendent assured that the quick response from staff prevented serious injuries.
«Thanks to training and established protocols, we managed the situation effectively,» he stated in a press release.
One of the biggest concerns was the presence of young elementary school students on campus. At the time of the fire, these children were attending a theater performance at Columbine.
