A Florida man was arrested this week after stealing a vehicle and driving over 290 kilometers to Mar-a-Lago, the private residence and club of Donald Trump, with the intent to speak with the former U.S. president.

The incident occurred Thursday night when Farbod Dolat, 52, was detained after parking in a lot near Trump’s Palm Beach estate.

According to the Palm Beach Police report, Dolat had traveled from Sarasota, located on Florida’s west coast, to Mar-a-Lago, where a gala dinner was taking place as part of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Officers questioned Dolat and discovered his driver’s license had been indefinitely suspended.

Additionally, the vehicle Farbod Dolat drove to Mar-a-Lago was reported stolen.

Authorities stated that the truck had been rented by a woman who had been with Dolat earlier that morning before he left without explanation, taking the car.

The arrest took place near Trump’s residence during the CPAC event. This was reported by EFE.

CPAC is a key event for conservative politics in the United States, featuring prominent figures such as Trump, Elon Musk, and Argentina’s President Javier Milei.

Farbod Dolat Tried to Crash the Gala But Was Taken to Jail

That same evening, the former Republican president was being honored at the gala.

Farbod Dolat was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where he faces charges of vehicle theft and driving without a valid license. His bail was set at $20,250.

The incident highlights Dolat’s erratic behavior, as he apparently crossed the state of Florida solely to reach Trump’s property.

The motivation behind his attempt to speak with the former president remains unclear.
