The magnate Elon Musk issued a call on social media to recruit geniuses willing to work over 80 hours a week for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
This new department, led by Musk, aims to advise President-elect Donald Trump on reducing public spending.
«We need high-IQ revolutionaries willing to work more than 80 hours a week on cost reduction,» the DOGE posted on X, the social media platform owned by Musk.
Musk will be joined in directing this department by Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur and former Republican primary candidate.
The DOGE Will Review Outstanding Résumés for a Business-Oriented Mission Until 2026

The DOGE specified that Musk and Ramaswamy will review only the top 1% of résumés received via direct message on X.
Trump announced this office as a new entity that will provide advice from outside the government and collaborate with the White House on structural reforms.
The goal is to implement a business-oriented approach to government, which Trump claims will be unique and unprecedented.
The DOGE’s mission has a deadline: it will conclude on July 4, 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence.
Although Musk’s appointment was expected, the choice of Ramaswamy as co-director surprised many, sparking criticism on social media.
