The National Actors Association (ANDA) shared sad news in the last days of November.

They announced the death of Lourdes Pellegrino, without revealing her cause of death.

The National Association of Interpreters also mourned the tragic passing of actress Lourdes Pellegrino.

One of the first personalities to react to this news was actress and singer Maribel Guardia.

It is worth noting that the Costa Rican artist lost her 27-year-old son Julián Figueroa in early April.

Manuel Landeta and Araceli Aguilar also bid farewell to the actress: «Rest in peace, the very kind and gentle Lulú!»

Lourdes Pellegrino was an important part of ANDA

Who was Lourdes Pellegrino? Besides being a talented actress, she was an important member of ANDA.

In her later years, she served as the Secretary of Social Welfare of the National Association of Actors, where she performed various functions.

In June 2016, she revealed that renowned actress Evita Muñoz, better known as ‘Chachita,’ had called her to ask for an ambulance service.

«She said, ‘I feel very bad, could you help me?’ and immediately assistance was provided.» Unfortunately, she died a few weeks later.

Some people said Lourdes Pellegrino was incompetent

However, not everyone was happy with Pellegrino’s work in the National Association of Actors (ANDA).

According to TV Notas magazine, in August 2014, relatives of actress Columba Domínguez complained about Lourdes Pellegrino’s incompetence.

It turns out that ‘Lulú,’ with just one phone call, made it clear at that time that she did not know where Columba’s final resting place would be.

The actress’s brother, also an actor, Néstor Domínguez, requested at that time that she be given a dignified place in the Rotunda of Illustrious People.

‘I am very happy with what I do’

In an interview with Notimex in December 2015, Lourdes Pellegrino highlighted the social support for ANDA members.

She acknowledged that they had experienced difficult times economically, but that charity events «had been very beneficial.»

«Many (actors) arrive at the hospital, and it’s money. They come to intensive or intermediate therapy, and the idea is for them to recover as best as possible,» she stated.

The actress recognized that they had many expenses, but they had to make every possible effort to help people recover.

Lourdes Pellegrino was satisfied with role in the actor’s union

In the same interview with Notimex, actress Lourdes Pellegrino stated that the medical care provided by her department was «first-rate.»

«The care they receive is extensive. We have about 70 or 80 doctors from various specialties, and all of that represents money,» she said.

Finally, the Secretary of Social Welfare at ANDA extended an invitation to people who were not satisfied with her work.

«I am very happy with what I do, and besides liking it, I know how things are done,» she stated.
