The Comarca Lagunera was engulfed in sadness upon learning of the heartfelt passing of Susana Ortiz, former vocalist of Chicos de Barrio.
This Sunday, February 25th, the news shook the region, unleashing a wave of condolences that flooded social media.
According to journalist Ángel Carrillo, Susana was battling cancer, a struggle that ended this Sunday, allowing her body to rest in peace.

It was through the popular social media platform Facebook that journalist Ángel Carrillo shared the sad news of the departure of the former vocalist of ‘Chicos de Barrio’.
«Susana had been facing a tough battle against cancer which ultimately ended her life. Rest in peace, and I send a respectful hug to her family,» he mentioned.
‘Chicos de Barrio’ was founded in 1995 in the Chávez de Anda studio, leaving an indelible musical legacy with great hits.
Among their popular songs are: «Mucha lucha», «La Cita», «La Chola», «El baile del Gavilán», «Rica y Apretadita», and «Mi Torreón».
Susana Ortiz from Chicos de Barrio dies

Susana Ortiz, along with Sergio Silva, Ricardo Bañuelos, Logan Ortiz, «Yiyo» Nájera, Gerardo Angüiano, Dimas Maciel, Orlando Juárez, Alfonso Muruaga, and Rafael Saucedo, formed the group.
Currently, Dimas Maciel, Beto, Pedro, Alfonso, Francisco, and Sammy continue with the legacy of ‘Chicos de Barrio’, keeping their music and essence alive.
Furthermore, Susana was the daughter of Arturo Ortiz, vocalist and founder of ‘Tropicalísimo Apache’, another iconic group in the genre of cumbias from La Laguna.
Grief is not new to the Ortiz family. Last October, the Apache Mayor bid farewell to Logan, his 47-year-old son, with profound sorrow.
