‘Chicos de Barrio’ was founded in 1995 in the Chávez de Anda studio, leaving an indelible musical legacy with great hits.

Susana Ortiz, along with Sergio Silva, Ricardo Bañuelos, Logan Ortiz, «Yiyo» Nájera, Gerardo Angüiano, Dimas Maciel, Orlando Juárez, Alfonso Muruaga, and Rafael Saucedo, formed the group.

Currently, Dimas Maciel, Beto, Pedro, Alfonso, Francisco, and Sammy continue with the legacy of ‘Chicos de Barrio’, keeping their music and essence alive.

Furthermore, Susana was the daughter of Arturo Ortiz, vocalist and founder of ‘Tropicalísimo Apache’, another iconic group in the genre of cumbias from La Laguna.

Grief is not new to the Ortiz family. Last October, the Apache Mayor bid farewell to Logan, his 47-year-old son, with profound sorrow.
