Actor Raymond Cruz, known for his role as Tuco Salamanca in “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” was arrested on September 8 in Los Angeles after an incident with a group of women.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Cruz was taken into custody on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after allegedly spraying a woman with a hose.

According to records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, the 60-year-old actor was released on bail the same day of his arrest and is scheduled to appear in court on October 1.

Cruz’s agent, Raphael Berko, told outlets including People and KABC that the actor had been washing his car in front of his Los Angeles home when several women began harassing him and recording him without his consent.

“They started recording him,” Berko explained. “When he turned around to ask them to stop, he was still holding the hose he was using to wash the car.”

“A little water landed on the front of their vehicle. Incredibly, one of those individuals called the police.”

Raymond Cruz’s defense argues that what happened was a disproportionate reaction and that the water contact was accidental, not an intentional act of aggression.

Outlets such as USA TODAY reported that they requested additional comments from both the Police Department and the actor’s team, but did not receive an immediate response.

The agent also emphasized that Raymond Cruz has no criminal record and that his personal and professional reputation has been spotless over the years.

During his time in jail, Cruz reportedly expressed gratitude for the treatment he received from police staff.

“Raymond is very grateful to all LAPD personnel because, during the five hours he was in custody, everyone was very kind and attentive, providing him with reassurance,” Berko told People.

The case has drawn media attention due to Raymond Cruz’s popularity in cult series such as “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” where he played the violent drug trafficker Tuco Salamanca.

His October 1 hearing will be key in determining whether he faces formal charges or if the case is resolved without further legal consequences.
