Mexican actor Raúl Boy dies in jail (PHOTOS AND VIDEO)

The 73-year-old Mexican actor, Raúl Boy died in the San Miguel prison located in Puebla, Mexico. His daughter, Ángeles Boy, asked that the case be investigated as a homicide. However, in a press conference, Governor Miguel Barbosa gave more details about the death.

The actor’s daughter said that in the last days of his life, her father «complained about his kidneys.» In addition, she said that he was given medication to treat an infection and asked that the actor’s death be thoroughly investigated.

Raúl Boy had a terrible disease and still ended up in jail

Raúl Boy was admitted to the prison on August 21 for making threats and carrying a firearm without a license. The deceased had had HIV for 30 years and required antiretroviral drugs, according to local outlet Municipios Puebla.

On August 17, the actor had a confrontation with a taquero in Puebla, for which he was placed in preventive detention. In Mexico, preventive detention is issued in serious crimes in which it is determined that the suspect could evade justice.

Governor tells the truth about the actor’s death

The actor was not convicted of the crimes he was arrested for. At a press conference, the governor of the state of Puebla, Miguel Barbosa, broke his silence about the actor’s death. «An arrest warrant was issued by the judiciary for carrying a prohibited weapon and I don’t know what other things…» he said.

He then said that, due to his age and the «chronic degenerative» disease that Raúl Boy suffered from, which was classified as «very serious» by the governor, he was granted a procedural benefit to serve preventive detention at home and not in the San Miguel prison.

“The control judge asks the state police to go and inspect the house where the man lived… the detainee… to see if there are conditions for him to live there… at home they talk, interact with the man’s daughter… and the daughter refused have the father in the home as a place for him to be in preventive house arrest,» said the governor.

This comes after Angeles Boy’s requests about the investigation of his father’s death. «Let things be said simply, but truthfully,» the governor said in an attempt to separate his government from the death of 73-year-old Raúl Boy.

In addition, Miguel Barbora clarified that the prison system provided Raúl Boy with “retroviral medication”. «They were being provided to the man, I have it in writing, and that document from the prison has already been sent to the Federal State Attorney’s Office,» said the governor.
