BeatKing died at the age of 39, as reported by his representative, after suffering a pulmonary embolism at a Houston hospital last Thursday.
The rapper, whose real name was Justin Riley, collapsed during a morning show at the Urban One/Radio One station.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, BeatKing passed away later that same day, surrounded by his two daughters.

«It’s really sad, we loved him very much,» commented his representative, who also paid an emotional tribute to BeatKing on Thursday night.

«He was the best part of the club for over a decade,» he remarked, recalling the artist’s influence on Houston’s nightlife and beyond.
«He has produced and worked with so many artists that his sound will live forever. He loved his daughters, his music, and his fans. We will love him forever,» concluded his representative.
BeatKing also achieved international fame with his 2020 TikTok viral hit, «Then Leave,» which catapulted him to global attention.
However, he was already an established name in the Texas party scene during the 2010s, with his music resonating in universities and clubs throughout the state.
Other hits by BeatKing include «SDAB,» featuring 2 Chainz and Juicy J, «Outside,» and «Keep It Poppin,» alongside Ludacris and Queendom Come.
Recently, BeatKing was seen with the famous rapper Drake, although it is unclear if they were working on a joint project, according to TMZ.
Ultimately, BeatKing’s legacy will live on through his music, and his contributions to the music industry will be remembered forever.
