A tragic event has shaken the family of former Miss Switzerland, Kristina Joksimovic, who was found dead in her home.

The former beauty queen, who lived in Binningen, near Basel, Switzerland, was brutally murdered by her husband.

According to media outlets like Daily Mail and People en Español, the person responsible for her death has been identified as her husband, ‘Thomas.’

He has been detained and is currently imprisoned, but his legal team claims that he acted in self-defense, though the facts suggest otherwise.

The husband of the ex-Miss Switzerland, 41, confessed to killing his 38-year-old wife, claiming self-defense. However, what he did to her body afterward raised serious concerns.

The Federal Court of Lausanne denied the husband’s release, as the tragic event occurred on February 13 during an argument between the couple.

‘Thomas’ allegedly strangled Kristina and then dismembered her body using a power saw and pruning shears in the basement of their home.

Adding to the horror, the man reportedly tried to liquefy the remains of the former beauty queen and dissolve them in a chemical solution.

What the Husband of the Former Miss Switzerland Declared

The man claimed that Kristina Joksimovic had attacked him with a knife, but forensic experts dismissed this claim.

A psychiatric evaluation of Thomas revealed a «notoriously high level of criminal energy» as well as a lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness.

There were also indications of mental illness. Given the circumstances, his future looks bleak, and he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Kristina Joksimovic was crowned Miss Switzerland in 2008 and, after her modeling career, she founded a consulting and coaching agency.
