Brazilian influencer Juliana Marins died at the age of 26 after falling several meters while hiking on the active volcano Mount Rinjani, located on the island of Lombok, Indonesia.

The news was confirmed by her family through an emotional message on Instagram on Tuesday, June 24, in which they expressed their sorrow over the young woman’s passing.

The incident occurred on June 21, when Juliana fell from a cliff near the volcano’s crater.

According to Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the accident triggered an intense rescue operation, which was complicated by harsh weather and difficult terrain in the area.

After several days of effort, Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency located her body with the help of a drone.

The recovery took place on Tuesday, June 24, after rescuers found Marins’ remains at a depth of 600 meters.

Although one of the rescuers reached the site where the victim lay, she showed no signs of life, according to Univision.

Experts explained that due to poor weather conditions, the recovery of the body was carried out the following day, as reported by ABC News.

However, Juliana Marins’ family expressed frustration with the Indonesian authorities, accusing them of being unprepared to carry out the rescue.

The influencer’s sister and a friend claimed that the rescuers lacked the proper equipment to reach her in time.

Additionally, the family alleged that the rescue videos were fabricated and that official reports claiming she had received food and water were false.

Brazilian President Lula da Silva also addressed the tragic incident, offering his condolences to Juliana’s family.
