This operation falls within the immigration policy promoted by former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis has supported this agenda through stricter laws signed in February.

Among the measures are harsher penalties for undocumented immigrants with criminal offenses, stricter requirements for local officials, and changes to migrant relocation programs.
One of the most controversial provisions allows state police to question the immigration status of residents.
This has raised concerns about potential racial profiling.
A recent incident has fueled further criticism: Juan Carlos López Gómez, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested by an officer who mistakenly believed he was an undocumented immigrant.
The young man was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle from Georgia.
He had to appear before a judge and was not released until his mother presented his birth certificate.
This case has been cited as an example of the dangers of implementing immigration policies without sufficient safeguards.
Meanwhile, the raids continue to generate tension in Latino and migrant communities across the state.
