An upcoming press conference at the Capitol, led by victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, could become a political and social turning point.
So warned Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna, who stated that the testimonies to be presented will be “explosive.”
Khanna, a representative from California, is pushing—along with Republican Thomas Massie—a bill that would require the Department of Justice to release all files related to Epstein.
For the initiative to move forward, they need 218 signatures in the House of Representatives, according to USA Today.

“What will be explosive is the press conference on September 3, where we will have 10 victims, many of whom have never spoken publicly before,” he said.

Congressional Pressure to Open Epstein’s Files
Rep. Ro Khanna: «[We have a] September 3rd press conference with 10 Epstein victims, many of whom have never spoken out before. They’re going to be on the steps of the Capitol telling their story saying clearly to the American public. They want the release of the Epstein files.» pic.twitter.com/pM4j4bfExl

For Khanna, the voices of these victims will be decisive in the debate.
According to the announcement, they will directly express that they want the full publication of Epstein’s files as a way to close this chapter that continues to provoke outrage.
Organizers expect the emotional impact of the accounts to pressure hesitant lawmakers and capture the attention of the national public.
The Epstein case has not only legal implications, but also political ones.
Trump, His Supporters, and the Controversy Surrounding Epstein’s Files
The controversy has created a rift between President Donald Trump and his MAGA base, which had demanded transparency and shocking revelations.
The current Republican government’s attempt to close the case has been rejected by its own supporters, who believe unanswered questions remain.
The House Oversight Committee has even subpoenaed Epstein’s estate to investigate whether there were irregularities in federal investigations and in his ties to Ghislaine Maxwell, sentenced to 20 years in prison.
A Case That Still Marks the U.S.
Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in 2019 in a federal prison in New York while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
His death fueled suspicions and theories about the scope of the network in which he was involved.
Now, the press conference seeks to reopen the public conversation and force Congress to decide whether the country will finally learn all the details of one of the most disturbing scandals of recent decades.
