Angelina Calderón blames Fernando Vega for their twins’ death

«Stop shutting me up, you know that he (the father) was the last one who was with my daughters when they died,» Angelina Calderón shouted between sobs.
«You’re making me look like I’m a bad person… I was working when they died,» she continued as an officer asked her to leave the courtroom.
The twins were barely six weeks old when they died and the forensic report revealed that their brief time on Earth was filled with pain.
Massail and Mirena Vega were born prematurely but, despite this, their parents did not return for the routine medical check-ups that newborns require, the court documents on the case detail.
Fernando Vega found the twins deceased

Their bodies were found on October 4, 2023, by their father after returning from dropping Angelina off at work.
The investigation was initiated by Houston police at 11:15 a.m. that same day, after responding to an emergency call from 2107 Linden Creek Way.
Authorities declared the twins dead at the scene. The police report detailed that the babies were on the couch with discolored skin, multiple bruises, and one of the girls had fractures.
It was only a matter of time before the nightmare that the two children lived through was revealed.
The pathologist from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences wrote in his report that he found several injuries on one of the babies, including dehydration, bruises and fractures that indicated ongoing abuse.
The twins showed serious signs of abuse

The twins were malnourished and one of them showed evidence of acute brain hemorrhage, while the other suffered from brain and spinal cord hemorrhage, indicating recent trauma, according to ABC 13.
Despite the obvious signs of neglect and abuse that were exposed in court, Angelina Calderón disagreed with the judge at the arraignment.
When he made reference to the fact that she was strictly prohibited from being in charge of a child under 17 years of age, including her older children, she responded.
«The juvenile agency showed that I have been a good mother, I have done everything, I have full custody of my children,» she told the judge.
The judge repeated to her that her bail for each charge was $750,000, and that if she paid it he would have 24-hour house arrest and would not be able to take care of anyone under 17 years of age, including her own children.
