Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, criticized Chrystia Freeland on Monday.
Freeland unexpectedly resigned as Canada’s Minister of Finance.
Trump called her behavior “toxic” and stated that she won’t be missed.
The Republican also took another jab at Justin Trudeau.
Trump Mocks Trudeau and Comments on Freeland’s Resignation

Donald Trump referred to Trudeau as “Governor” again on his Truth Social platform.
“The Great State of Canada is stunned,” Trump wrote sarcastically.
Freeland, a close ally of Trudeau, stepped down citing political disagreements.
In her resignation letter, she hinted at criticism of some of the prime minister’s economic decisions.
Chrystia Freeland’s resignation comes shortly after Trump’s victory in the U.S. election.
Canada is now facing a political crisis, coinciding with Trump’s threats to impose 25% tariffs.

Trump warned that these tariffs will be enforced if Canada doesn’t address migration and fentanyl issues.
The Republican also joked about annexing Canada as a new U.S. state.
According to Trump, such annexation would eliminate the need for tariffs.
Chrystia Freeland’s resignation and Trump’s criticism have further strained the already tense relations between the two countries.
