A chilling incident shook Las Vegas on Saturday morning, as a teenager was killed in a shooting in front of his residence in the center of the valley.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the tragic incident took place around 10:45 am on the 2300 block of Goldhill Way, near Vegas and Rancho streets.
Police spokesman, Lieutenant Jason Johansson, held a press conference on Saturday afternoon and announced that the victim died at the University Medical Center.

According to the initial investigation by police, the young man was outside his home when he was approached by his assailant. They briefly exchanged words, Johansson reported.
The shooter, described as another teenager by Lieutenant Johansson, was shirtless and wearing black pants at the time of the incident.
Detectives believe the two knew each other, Johansson added, according to the Review Journal.
Following the fatal shooting, the suspect fled south, and at the time of this statement had not been located by the authorities, Johansson pointed out.

In an effort to clarify the facts and bring those responsible to justice, detectives are scouring the area for possible surveillance footage that could help identify the suspect.
Meanwhile, police officers will remain in the area throughout the day to provide security and support to the affected community.
