The tragedy of 38-year-old Stephanie DeJesús began on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, when the woman left her house heading to the pharmacy to buy some medicine for her son, according to the PPD report.
At 6:00 pm on that frigid Thursday afternoon, Stephanie DeJesús bought the medicine for her son. PPD did not disclose which pharmacy she went to. After buying the medicine, DeJesús left the pharmacy and walked back towards her house. But she never arrived.

The report reached the emergency number at 7:56 in the morning and the people who spoke with the authorities told them that the car had been parked on that corner for several hours and none of the neighbors knew whose it was or why it was parked there.
A PPD patrolman answered the call from the neighbors and expected it to be a routine check of to a badly parked car. The officer who arrived checked the car and realized that there was something in the trunk so he decided to open it.

Upon opening the trunk of the car, the PPD patrolman found the body of a dead Hispanic woman. Detectives from the Homicide Division showed up at the scene to coordinate the investigation. It was confirmed that the body was that of Stephanie DeJesús.
The detectives from the Homicide Division checked the information in their database and that’s when the name of Stephanie DeJesús appeared as a missing person. Alarms went off for the PPD detectives upon confirming those details.
Who owns the car where her body was discovered?

In Passaic County Public Records, accessed by MundoHispanico, Mrs. Stephanie DeJesús also appears as Stephanie DeJesús-Paterson, from her marriage. Authorities didn’t say if the woman had a new boyfriend or partner.
Authorities from the PPD Homicide Division and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office declined to report what type of car Stephanie DeJesús was found in. They say this detail is part of the investigation.
Authorities ask for help to find the killer

Now the PPD Homicide Division and the Passaic County District Attorney’s Office are asking the community in the states of New York and New Jersey to call 973.321.1120 if anyone has reliable information about the murder of Stephanie DeJesús. All tips will remain anonymous.
