Republican Senator Chuck Grassley released an unseen video on Wednesday, captured by a security agent’s camera.

The footage shows the lifeless body of Thomas Crooks, the shooter who wounded Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.

The video also shows a firefighter who attended the rally with his family and lost his life while protecting his daughter from Crooks’ bullets.

This video has caused a stir on social media, offering a new perspective on the attack against the former president.

Chuck Grassley shared the recording on his official X account, formerly known as Twitter, which is now circulating worldwide.

In a brief statement, the senator indicated that his aim in sharing the footage is to provide «transparency» and hold accountable those responsible for security failures.

These failures allowed the 20-year-old to take position on a nearby rooftop undetected.

The video shows a Secret Service agent discussing details with several police officers to report the incident to Washington.

«Body camera footage from July 13 provides more information than the Secret Service will share with America,» Grassley wrote.

«WE NEED detailed answers as soon as possible about security failures. TRANSPARENCY BRINGS ACCOUNTABILITY,» the senator added.

«The video was obtained from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit in compliance with Congressional requests,» stated Chuck Grassley.

FBI Director Christopher Wray reported on Wednesday during a House hearing that bullet casings were found on the rooftop.

Wray assured that the FBI will continue working «tirelessly to get to the bottom of what happened.»

He emphasized that «we are putting all FBI resources into criminal and national security.»

«The attempted assassination of the former president was an attack on our democracy and our democratic process,» Wray underscored.

According to the FBI director, the shooter used a drone to survey the area two hours before the Pennsylvania rally, determining the best position to fire from.

Before being shot by security forces, Thomas Crooks fired eight bullets from his elevated position, wounding Trump and two other attendees and causing one fatality.

Additionally, three explosive devices were recovered: two in Crooks’ vehicle and one in his residence, all with remote detonation receivers.

Grassley stated that the video and documents released provide more answers than those given by the Secret Service to date.

The incident has sparked an intense debate about the effectiveness of security measures and the response of agencies tasked with protecting high-profile political figures.
