Puerto Rican lawyer Michael Corona is representing the singer’s nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sánchez.
During an initial court hearing, he said that he would request access to documents concerning the singer’s mental health.
Ricky Martin initially filed a lawsuit against his nephew

Ricky Martin filed a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against his nephew.
He filed the suit in the Court of First Instance in San Juan for extortion, malicious persecution and damages.
The lawsuit was filed on September 7, 2022.
This occurred after the young man unsuccessfully sought another restraining order against his uncle.
Martin’s nephew initially sought a restraining order against the singer

Dennis Yadiel Sánchez is Ricky Martin’s nephew.
He filed for a restraining order against the singer last July with the San Juan authorities in Puerto Rico.
The legal disputes between Ricky Martin and his nephew began in July 2022.
That’s when Sánchez requested, and was granted, a protection order under the Domestic Violence Act. The order was later dismissed.

The singer’s legal representatives are seeking a multimillion-dollar settlement

Ricky Martin’s legal representatives are demanding a settlement of no less than $20 million.
In response, Sánchez countersued his uncle for $10 million last May.
The trial for Martin and Dennis Yadiel Sánchez will begin on December 18.
It will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The star’s nephew has requested a mental health evaluation

Dennis Yadiel Sánchez and his legal team have requested access to documents regarding Ricky Martin’s mental health.
The request to disclose the artist’s mental health status is in response to the motion filed by Martin’s lawyers.
Martin is represented by Joaquín Monserrate, Dora L. Monserrate, and José A. Andreu.
They are seeking records from Sánchez at Capestrano Hospital and other entities.
