According to EFE, the case of Robin Westman has shaken the city of Minneapolis and the entire United States due to the violence he unleashed against a school community.

Westman was identified as the attacker at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, where he opened fire during a back-to-school mass and caused the deaths of two children.

Hours before committing the crime, the 22-year-old posted a manifesto on YouTube that has become key to understanding the planning and motives behind the massacre.

The 11-minute video showed an arsenal of weapons and included a message warning about the possibility of attacking a church during a religious ceremony.

In addition to issuing direct threats, Robin Westman included antisemitic insults and references to episodes of hate that echoed past school attacks in the U.S.

Authorities confirmed that the attacker had also uploaded other videos displaying long-gun magazines.

In some of those clips, he wrote messages against President Donald Trump, while in others he referred to criminals who had carried out similar massacres in the country.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated that these recordings are now part of the official case investigation.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that Westman fired three different types of weapons during the attack.

The shooting occurred in the middle of a back-to-school mass, when hundreds of students and families were gathered inside the Annunciation Church.

The outcome was tragic: two children were killed on the spot and 17 others were wounded.

Authorities said that after committing the massacre, Westman took his own life inside the same premises.

Trump Responds to Amid National Mourning

The magnitude of Robin Westman’s attack has caused profound grief in the Catholic community and among the families affected, who are still struggling to process what happened.

“This deliberate act of violence is a display of cruelty beyond all comprehension,” the police chief said in a statement to the people of Minneapolis.

O’Hara added that despite the evil displayed, the community should know that police and institutions stand with the victims.

Local and federal authorities deployed psychological support teams and victim assistance services at the school and community centers in the city.

U.S. Flag at Half-Staff

President Trump’s administration also reacted with symbolic measures of national mourning.

It ordered that the U.S. flag be flown at half-staff on all public buildings and military bases until August 31.

With this, the White House seeks to honor the victims and send a message of solidarity to Minneapolis and school communities across the country.

The case of Robin Westman reignites the debate about the ease of access to firearms in the United States.

Debate on Guns and Social Media

The fact that a 22-year-old could publicly display rifles, magazines, and ammunition without being stopped raises questions about control mechanisms.

Moreover, his YouTube posts have brought to light the responsibility of digital platforms in detecting threats early.

Robin Westman’s videos remained online for several hours and were viewed by dozens of users before being removed after the attack.

Experts argue that this delay highlights the need for stricter monitoring systems to prevent tragedies.

Minneapolis Community Seeks Healing

The Annunciation School, located in a traditional Minneapolis neighborhood, will remain closed while investigations and cleanup efforts continue.

Parents are demanding greater security measures to prevent such an incident from ever happening again.

The local Catholic community has organized vigils and masses in memory of the victims, drawing participation from neighbors and religious leaders.

Some attendees stressed that school attacks affect not only the immediate families, but also the broader social fabric left scarred by violence.

Investigation into Minneapolis School Shooter and His Connections

Meanwhile, the FBI continues analyzing Robin Westman’s online materials to determine whether he acted alone or had ties to extremist networks on the internet.

For now, everything points to a lone gunman with a history of hate and an obsession with firearms.

However, the possibility that his messages resonated in online forums remains a concern for national security officials.

The Minneapolis attack adds to the long list of U.S. school shootings that have left behind grief and unanswered questions.

Grief and Demand for Justice

For the families mourning the loss of their children, the most urgent response is clear: violence should never have reached the doors of a school.
