Kamilla Belyatskaya, a 24-year-old aspiring actress, tragically lost her life during a yoga session on a cliff in Koh Samui, Thailand.

According to Khaosod English, the young Russian woman was swept away by a giant wave while meditating on a pink mat overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.

The incident occurred last Friday afternoon when a powerful wave struck her unexpectedly.

Although a passerby attempted to save her, the rescue was unsuccessful. Moments later, her floating yoga mat was the only trace found, according to local media.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene approximately 15 minutes later, but waves as high as 9 feet made their efforts extremely challenging.

Sadly, Kamilla Belyatskaya’s body was discovered more than two-thirds of a mile from where the accident occurred.

Kamilla had shared her love for the Lad Ko viewpoint on social media, describing it as «the best place in the world.»

She was last seen arriving at the site in a red car before heading to the rocks to begin her meditation session.

Chaiyaporn Subprasert, director of the Samui Rescue Center, stated that while the viewpoint is not a designated swimming area, monsoon season conditions present significant risks.

«We constantly warn tourists about red flag warnings on beaches like Chaweng and Lamai,» authorities explained.

«However, this site is primarily a viewpoint, and the victim was caught off guard by the wave,» Subprasert added.

Following Kamilla Belyatskaya’s tragic accident, authorities in Samui closed off access to the rocky areas beneath the viewpoint to prevent future incidents, according to the New York Post.
