The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a raid on March 4 at Texas Couplings LLC in Spring, north of Houston.
According to Telemundo Houston, 20 undocumented workers were detained for immigration-related administrative violations.
The detainees were transferred to the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, while their immigration status is reviewed.
ICE explained in a statement to Telemundo Houston that the operation was conducted after discrepancies were found in an I-9 form audit.
ICE Carries Out Investigation and Possible Company Sanctions After Raid

The I-9 form is used to verify employee identity and work eligibility in the U.S.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether Texas Couplings LLC will face penalties for hiring unauthorized workers.
According to Telemundo Houston, the investigation is ongoing, and ICE has not disclosed details on potential charges against the company.
Family members recorded the moment when ICE agents and other agencies carried out the raid at 1835 Old Holzwarth in Spring.
The daughter of one of the detained workers spoke to Telemundo Houston, sharing her distress over her father’s arrest.
«My dad is not a criminal. He wasn’t on any list,» she said.
The family is worried about his health, as the 65-year-old man has high cholesterol and diabetes, requiring constant medication.
«We don’t know how he’ll manage there or if we’ll be allowed to visit him,» she added.
According to Telemundo Houston, ICE stated that the operation is part of its worksite enforcement strategy.
The U.S. government views these inspections as essential to ensuring companies operate within legal boundaries.

ICE also emphasized that these operations can uncover additional crimes, such as human trafficking, money laundering, and labor exploitation.
«ICE’s strategy targets not only undocumented workers but also employers who break the law,» the agency stated.
The 20 detained workers remain in custody as authorities determine their immigration status.
As for Texas Couplings LLC, ICE has not confirmed whether the company will face fines or criminal charges.
«The case remains under investigation, and more details will be released in the coming days,» reported Telemundo Houston.
ICE maintains that these enforcement actions aim to protect legal workers and prevent unfair competition in the job market.
