House of Representatives Releases Over 33,000 Pages in Epstein Case

According to the EFE news agency, the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday released more than 33,000 pages related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The documents were provided by the Department of Justice as part of a transparency process requested for months.

The release was carried out by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, which described the move as a first step.

The goal, they explained, is to shed more light on one of the most controversial cases in U.S. politics and justice.

The Committee’s chairman, Republican James Comer, announced the decision to the press.

“There are more documents on the way,” the lawmaker said, noting that the release will happen in several phases.

The Epstein case has become a symbol of political tensions and demands for accountability in Washington.

The release of these files responds to political agreements reached between Democrats and Republicans.

House of Representatives, Epstein Case, and Criticism of the DOJ

Out of the 333,295 pages reviewed, about 3% are previously unseen.

The rest correspond to information already publicly available, lawmakers noted.

Congressman Ro Khanna of California criticized the Department of Justice’s handling of the process.

“Less than 1% of the files has been released. The Department of Justice is obstructing,” he said.

Donald Trump’s Role in the Controversy

Epstein’s name continues to fuel strong debate in public opinion and national politics.

U.S. President Donald Trump had promised during his campaign to release a list of clients tied to the tycoon.

However, since taking office, he has adopted a more reserved stance on the case.

The government’s secrecy has caused unease among Trump supporters, who expected a broader disclosure.

Ghislaine Maxwell Denies Client List

This past July, the Department of Justice warned that it would not release further information on Epstein.

That decision drew criticism from lawmakers and activists demanding greater transparency in the process.

Epstein’s former partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

In a recent meeting with officials, she denied the existence of a list of famous clients linked to the tycoon.
