President Biden offends immigrants

In response to provocations from Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Biden spoke about Laken Riley’s case.
Greene asked Biden to say Riley’s name. She was a Georgia nursing student allegedly murdered by a Venezuelan immigrant.
The president responded by saying: «Laken Riley was an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal immigrant.»
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre spoke last Friday to a small group of journalists from various media outlets about the incident.
Biden spoke off the cuff

The spokeswoman stated that Biden spoke compassionately, referring to a young woman allegedly murdered by an immigrant.
The statement pointed out that the president improvised while trying to address the tragedy, adding a nuance of questioning to his speech.
«So, he spoke compassionately. There was someone who allegedly crossed illegally and that young woman, sadly, was killed,» said Jean-Pierre
«That’s what he was referring to. And did he improvise? Yes, he was improvising, trying to reckon with the death of that young woman,» she added.
Biden regrets using the term ‘illegal’

Biden expressed remorse for using the term to describe those who arrived or live in the United States irregularly, following criticism from fellow Democrats.
This comes at a time of growing political sensitivity around immigration, especially after the tragic death of Laken Riley.
Criticism of the Democratic president’s immigration policies has been intense, especially from Donald Trump and his Republican followers.
«I shouldn’t have used illegal, it’s undocumented,» he said in an interview with Jonathan Capehart of MSNBC.
Trump criticizes Biden

While campaigning in Rome, Georgia on Saturday, Trump took the opportunity to criticize Biden’s comments.
The former Republican president lashed out at Biden’s immigration policies, blaming them for tragedies like Laken Riley’s death.
According to ABC News, Trump’s speech resonated among his followers and those who are dissatisfied with the Democratic administration.
Trump’s public criticism of Biden highlights the ongoing political division in the United States, especially surrounding sensitive issues such as immigration.
Harsh words for the current president

«Joe Biden went on television and apologized for calling Laken’s murderer an illegal,» he said amid boos.
«Biden should be apologizing for apologizing to this killer,» Trump continued.
“What Joe Biden has done on our border is a crime against humanity and the people of this nation for which he will never be forgiven,» Trump railed.
He alleged that Riley «would be alive today if Joe Biden had not willfully and maliciously eviscerated the borders of the United States and set loose thousands and thousands of dangerous criminals into our country.»
