Mark Carney revealed that currently, 75% of Canada’s military spending goes to US companies, which he described as “not smart.”
He stated that his administration is already in talks with European partners to redirect investments toward the continent’s defense industry.
“Since I took office on March 14, we have intensified our discussions with our key European allies to become strategic defense partners,” he explained.
According to the Prime Minister, this new path will not only strengthen national security but also generate jobs within Canada.

And he emphasized that Canada will take “as much time as necessary” to ensure a fair outcome.
