Born in Bogotá, Colombia, this Colombian-American businessman is currently a U.S. senator from Ohio.

In the recent elections, he received nearly 2.8 million votes, defeating Democrat Sherrod Brown.

At 57 years old, he is the son of Bernardo Moreno, a renowned surgeon who led the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare.

In a recent interview, Bernie Moreno stated that Donald Trump will work with Nicolás Maduro.

In the presence of Vice President Kamala Harris, Bernie Moreno was sworn in as a U.S. senator for the state of Ohio.

After being elected in November, he stated that he would focus on «fixing the economy and securing the border.»

He also said that he would restore «America’s strength.»

At just five years old, Bernie Moreno emigrated to the U.S. with his family and became a U.S. citizen at 18.

«The U.S. is not the one that chooses who the leaders are»

As mentioned earlier, Bernie Moreno confirmed that Trump will work with Nicolás Maduro.

This, «because he is the one who will take office next week (January 10).»

The Republican also mentioned that «the U.S. does not choose who the leaders of these countries are.»

«They had an election, people say it wasn’t fair, but at the end of the day, the interests of the United States are to stop drug trafficking…».

Another key interest for the U.S., according to Bernie Moreno, is «that all the illegal Venezuelans in this country be sent back.»

«And that they do business with the U.S. and stop doing business with Russia and China, and from that point on, we can discuss whether there is a free and fair election.»

On Friday, January 10, the new president of Venezuela will take office.

It seems that it will be Nicolás Maduro with whom Trump will work, based on what Bernie Moreno expressed.
