A near-tragedy unfolded when an armed man approached a vehicle where former U.S. President Barack Obama was seated, while his Secret Service detail failed to respond.

According to information from TMZ, the incident occurred in a Hollywood alley in Los Angeles, California.

Obama was sitting in the back seat of his SUV.

On Saturday, September 21, at 7:30 p.m., a situation arose that could have become a historic disaster.

It Appears to Have Been a Confusion on the Part of Barack Obama’s Secret Service

Reports from the same portal indicate that the armed individual, who was a security guard, approached Obama’s SUV.

The vehicle was parked near the Mother Wolf restaurant, where a bar mitzvah was being held upstairs.

Someone reportedly told the security guard that there appeared to be Secret Service agents nearby, though they were unsure why.

Upon leaving, the guard noticed two agents to his right and a black SUV with a Department of Homeland Security license plate to his left.

The former US president was seen using a laptop.

The security guard explained that Obama panicked upon noticing the armed man and realizing that the Secret Service might see him as a threat.

After stepping back, the guard waved at the agents, who seemed surprised to see him. He then re-entered the restaurant.

Thirty minutes later, the guard’s boss asked him to hand over his credentials and concealed carry permit for the Secret Service to review.

Barack Obama’s daughters, Sasha and Malia, later joined their father for dinner at the restaurant.

The security guard admitted that approaching the vehicle was a mistake on his part.

He noted that had it been someone with harmful intentions, the former president could have been in real danger. The guard mentioned that the agents appeared embarrassed by the incident.

So far, Obama’s Secret Service detail has not commented on the situation.
